4th September – 10th September – Days 146 to 152
Right then all you out there in Dear Old Blighty, what have I got up-to this week?
I’ve sorted out my social calendar until I travel back to the UK, and after in some cases. Red Hot Chilli’s, Muse, Placebo, Presidents of the United States of America, U2, Buzzcocks, Kings of Leon and Pearl Jam – Music Heaven for an old rocker…..
Work has been productive, loads achieved and everybody happy. Laing O’Rourke, our new owners, are still not sure what we in Facilities Management are all about but they are learning fast and we aim to impress.
Not flown recently but am soon off to Western Australia and Victoria, so that will be a few more places knocked off the Biffa 2C List. I think the flight to Western Australia will be quite a drag, but if I nab a window seat I should see some of the scenery on the way.
Sarah and Dave have been looking after me, one meal in, one out and two chilled overnight stays as well. Sarah started her new job and now works across the road from my unit, quite bizarre considering I used to sit across from her in the same office. Anyway they are buying a new car so we’ve all been off car hunting.
I have also booked flights for my jaunt home later this year so that’s something I’m looking forward to.
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to my Wee Bruva Chris who celebrated the 16th anniversary of his 21st on Friday – I could have sworn that he doesn’t look a day over 40. Enjoy wee man.
In addition to the above and after some very very careful deliberation Frankie, Lewis and Ross are all moving out at the end of the year to give Australia a bash. We will join the growing band of ‘skilled’ (Of course I’m skilled…!), Brit’s who are leaving the UK at a rate of 125,000 a year for Australia and Canada.
So you all know where you can stay when you are on holiday…..a nice wee hotel down the road…..only joking, you’ll all be welcome.
Anyway enough joviality, I’ve got work to do….till next weeks exciting update – does anyone actually read this? – toodle pip.
