8th July to the 4th August – Days 484 to 512
Holiday
A month of fun for the Biffa’s down under which included a weeks holiday 400kms up the coast in a wee area just south of Port Macquarie, Ross’s 11 birthday, Winter, the usual sporting activities, Fran watching the Wallabies train when she should have been working and a job offer, (its not that I am good – just that they are desperate!).
Sydney FC
Ross was also selected this month to be a ball boy for a season warm up match between Sydney FC and Manly FC, (Lucas Neil’s old club). Sydney won 3-2 but the new Brazilian Pint Sized signing Jonnniiiininininihhoooo or what ever he’s called stayed in the comfort of a private box….bore.
Highlight of the evening was Ross doing keepy-ups with the spare match ball in front of the Lucas Neil stand whilst the match was underway. The 2,000 crowd clapped him and then booed me, (nasty Dad), when I told him to stop messing around and concentrate on the responsibilities as a ball boy!
The little monkey also tried to swap footie shirts with the Sydney FC stars, although they didn’t seem to want Collaroy Strikers tee-shirts regardless of the fact they have 1st Division status on the Northern Beaches. Unfortunately Ross does not give in easily and chassed every player all over the pitch until he got the message. They were all good sports and affectionately patted him on the head as they delivered their negative responses – it was probably in their best interests that they presented all the ball boys on the night with a Sydney FC shirt after the match!
Lewis’ Footie Team
Ron 'Lewis' Manager's wee Footie team is going from strength to strength a have hit a purple patch just at the end of the season which has been very rewarding for him. It’s a mixture of the tactics and bribery approach that Lewis has adopted – he has discovered that Under 7’s will do anything for a jelly snake – who wouldn’t though!
