15th April - Day 4
Up at 10 and hit shops, open yippee I wont waste away. Buy loads of things over three trips;
Beer
Fresh Food
Beer
Foods
Wine
Non Foods
Leave for Richard’s (boss) 45 acre Ranch in Mangrove Mountains. Sat Nav very basic but works and after a breathtaking drive arrive at 1:30. I had to drive very carefully as the Australians issue double penalty points for driving badly on a public holiday.
Family, scenery, house, land, horses, quad bikes all wonderful/beautiful I was made to feel totally at home with beer and nibbles on his balcony. Treated to wonderful views and lots of very exotic birds, must have escaped from a zoo.
Richard let me take out his 500cc quad bike – wicked fun, he also warned me about Red Back spiders and dangerous snakes…! Don’t see any, scarred of Mad Sottish Hooker on tour. Saw some aborigine caves complete with crude art work and hand prints.
Had a lovely evening with Richard’s family and neighbours, (Steve and Elaine - Opal Miners and @@@@ Equestrian Centre owners), Richard cooked Thai and it was lovely, first decent meal for days…! Drunk lots of Wine and had a very nice evening and was offered $500 for my rugby treat, tickets for the Waratahs v Brumbies match, Sunday night at the Aussie Stadium – no chance.
Bed at 12 after we tidy up and sleep well, obviously nothing to do with the wine…!
