18th September – 24th September – Days 160 to 166

Another fun week in the Land of Opportunity Down Under.

Everything has been good this week, although getting used to the temperature being in the mid 30’s in September is a bit bizarre.

Work has been fun, Placebo were distinctly average and I finished the week on my Boss’s ranch helping him build a fence around one of his paddocks for some new horses that he has bought. Helping building the fence in 36dgrees certainly takes it out of you!

Lewis was 13 years young on the 24th and building the fence certainly helped to take my mind of missing his Birthday. Apart from the sun I also saw wild wallabies, my first huntsman Spider and on our way back from visiting some of Richard’s friends got stuck on the road as a tree had fallen across it!

Easily resolved with a bit of the old pioneering attitude – everybody just waits in their cars until enough muscle come along then they, (and yesterday included me), they just drag it of the road and push it over the edge of the ravine – all in a days work…..

Low lights of the week were certainly Placebo, went with Dave & Sarah and Richard & Helen, (even cooked tea for them all before we left – small effort towards paying them back for the generosity they have shown me, although they experienced DB’s Pierce and Ping cuisine, (Pierce the packet and wait for the Microwave to ping), although it was served with wholesome salad, honest Fran.

Anyway Molko and Co. didn’t play Nancy Boy or any of the other old greats just a regurgitation of their latest album, to make matters worse Mr Molko had shaved all his hair off, grown man boobs and didn’t look too excited by the whole affair – bloody drag queen. To cap it all Moshing was distinctly banned, (probably to protect the audience due to them having an average age of about 13 ¾’s!).

So last time I grace them with my presence, both Placebo and the 13¾ year olds.

I didn’t spend any over- nights with Sarah & Dave this week, although had a few social sessions with them. Sarah’s getting stuck into her new job and by all accounts loving it – she will be running Stockland soon. The social events were fun and included a couple of nights out with one of Sarah’s colleague’s who’s leaving Stockland and the gang to celebrate Gin’s 30th

Both big and both fun.

Anyway I am flying back to see the family mid October which I am really looking forward to – although as it is pushing low 30’s now temperature wise I will be needing some thermal underwear just to leave the plane.

Stay positive, stay warm and see you all soon,

Regards from the Sydney Loyal (don’t mention the Old Firm Score…!)
