19th May – Day 38

I get up and have breakfast before getting a taxi to the office at 8am. I spend the day with Angus and Frank discussing the Energex tender which is very complex with regard to its scope of works.
We have a good day and Frank takes me back to the airport, detouring past the Breakfast Creek Hotel Bar which is a bit of a local landmark and over 130 years old. We have a schooner of XXXX of the wood, (served from a barrel of the bar), it’s the only place in Australia where you can buy it like this and has its origins with the Port Hands who used to work in the local docks many years ago.
Then its off to the airport and a flight home sitting next to an obnoxious German who spent the whole flight complaining and picking his nose – deep joy.
I get back to my flat late as the plane circled Sydney for some reason so I miss the Waratahs semi final which is just as well as they lost.
Mark calls and invites me out for a drink which is quite a laugh, I meet his mates Shaun and Warren.
I leave them at about 12 and hit the pillow after calling Fran and the boys.
