26th April - Day 15
Yesterday Anzac Day, today Lap-Top Day…hope its as good…!
First things first, I’m off to the local ANZ bank to set up a bank account. I chose ANZ as they are Barclay Mowlem’s bankers and there are advantages – quicker transfer of funds, reduced account charges, (they charge for withdrawals from ATM machines over here). Everything goes well apart from the fact that the adviser can’t understand a word that I say!
Hit the CBD office and prepare for the presentation to AMP – session goes well, then I head off to Pymble office for my new toy.
Get my lap top, upload my old files and start trying to add my programme files for my Camera, Mobile Phone Number Management System, i-Pod, Wireless Broadband and my Web Cam so I can see my family – no go, knock back, refusal etc etc etc.
Complain and am advised to write a business case to justify software inclusion – like I have the time to waste on such useless documents.
Richard introduces me to the Company Marketing Director, Mary Jane who is superb – a good strong marketing head whom I will enjoy working with.
I leave quite late, hit the gym – miss the swim tonight – eat and off to sleep early as I am going up to the Hunter Valley tomorrow.
