30th April - Day 19
Could have done with a lie in but landlord wakes me with some spare sheets at 9 am on a Sunday morning – good service but I wish he had come later. I have some breakfast and have a swim before I head down to the opera house to meet Sarah and Dave for lunch of Flat Head and Chips.
Lovely couple of hours an lots of gossip about the poker night – sounds like a fun time was had by all – although I am still glad I stayed at home and showed John and his family some respect.
I wander home through Hyde Park and pop into the War Memorial. Then I sit on the grass and chill for an hour or watching the world go by, I really am missing the family. I get up when I finally realise that I am sitting on an ants nest who have chewed through my ankles – buggers.
I go back to the flat and phone the boys who are preparing for a rugby tournament – I love speaking to the wee men and Fran, love and miss them all too much.
Carmell phones and invites me over for tea; I accept and hit Manley at about 6, its raining lightly but is really warm.
Carmell cooks Thai which is lovely and we have a chat about everything, putting the world to right. The kids hit the pillow, we chat a bit more and I hit the road at about 11, get home and hit the pillow at about 12 after a chill.
